As Palm Beach County’s recorded coronavirus cases continue to rise, many local residents continue to struggle with the pandemic’s economic impact.The following organizations are offering food distribution:Palm Beach County: The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides meals and snacks to eligible children age 18 and younger during the summer months, through August 7, and in times of emergency. Meals and snacks are also available to persons with disabilities, over age 18, who participate in school programs for people who are mentally or physically disabled.Funded by USDA and the Department of Education, the program operates out of 70 locations scattered throughout the county, from Boca Raton to South Bay to Tequesta. Youth Services administers and monitors this program.Parents picking up kits without their child present must bring identification for the child. Meal kits will not be provided to parents who do not bring their child or do not provide proper identification. Feeding South Florida: The inter-county organization has more than doubled its grocery distribution efforts during the coronavirus crisis. The organization, which has a newly expanded “Feeding Palm Beach County” location in Boynton Beach, partners with local agencies and churches at sites throughout the county.Distributions take place at various times throughout the week. Hospitality Helping Hands: Known as “H3,” this feeding effort is a charitable mission by the Sub-Culture restaurant group. The charity hosts a weekly grocery distribution at the Port of Palm Beach on Saturdays at 3 p.m. (line starts at 9 a.m.).
